Welcome! The Door is Open!

Incheon is a bustling city in Korea. This city boasts it's world class Incheon International Airport along with its robust manufacturing companies, rapid residential development not to mention it's hosting of the 2014 Asian Games. Hundreds of thousand foreigners work here and each year the number of laborers are remarkably increasing. Incheon is just an example of a growing city where influx of foreign workers are coming in South Korea as a whole.

According to the POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Agency) in year 2010 alone, they have deployed some 72,921 Filipino workers in Korea. And the number is incrementing not including the undocumented and the 'tamunwas'. The Philippines ranks 3rd in the number of foreigners who are married to Koreans. In fact these Filipinas or the 'tamunwas' contributed to the winning of our very own Filipina Jasmine Lee to be the first non-Korean descent to be seated as Representative in the Congress!

Indeed the Diaspora is now prevalent. Who will care for these people? The Philippine Embassy in South Korea, admits that they can't do it alone. That's the reason why they try to seek some helps and create a partnership to Filipino churches and organizations to go hand in hand in helping our fellow Filipinos with their conditions and problems in Language, work environment, Labor rights concern and even spiritual life in this developed country.

Our experience in the OFW (Oversees Filipino Workers) ministry reveals that an expat is more receptive to the word of God while being far from his home country rather than while he is in his mother land. Countless of testimonies would justify this fact because these workers are down, homesick, and feel isolated and helpless. They need some strength to continue. And these strengths apparently come from their fellowship with their "kababayans" (countrymen) so that it would make them feel comforted and cared for. In connection, hearing the word of God for them heals their sin-sick souls. And in effect, they find churches and para-churches as their home away from home.

In addition, Korean churches also consider the potentials of Filipinos to be part and partner in doing mission in Korea knowing the fact that Filipinos can communicate in English, they are friendly to other nationalities, helpful, resilient and dependable. Filipinos can be used remarkably in winning souls most especially to the English speaking people like expats from Nepal, Bangladesh, Ghana and other African countries. Some non-English speaking nationalities also look for a conducive place in doing their own worship as homogenous group. Hence we are offering the place for them for free.

Though there are many Korean Churches that offer an International Ministries, these are not yet enough in the growing numbers of migrants workers swarming in this small nation. Many of them are unreached of the Gospel and haven't experienced a genuine fellowship with our true God and with our loving and eternal fellowship as believers. There is a reminder in Romans 10:14-15 NIV

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

We fervently pray that the Lord shall use ODGM mightily outreaching love for these treasured ones. We, therefore summon all believer to walk hand in hand in this Godly endeavor through prayers, gifts and services.

Greetings in the matchless name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Peace be with you my dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Welcome to Open Door; a church planted through passionate service of our fellow servants, watered to grow, and caused to increase by God. We are enjoying the presence of God in our midst as we serve His mighty name in this land of the morning calm as we pursue the 2020 vision given to our beloved Pastor Jon, the vision keeper "a church in every key city in Korea. Thanks to God for the fruitful years of unlimited possibilities here in His church for God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we even ask or think according to the power that works in us And we are certain that God, who began a good work in us, will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Let us advance the Kingdom of God forcefully; we are not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes... Jesus said in His word in John 10:9 "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture." An Open Door awaits you. ...Jesus is welcoming you brothers and sisters, for God loves you so much.
